<h4>What The Role Is</h4><p>Reporting to the Wind Site Manager, the Wind Technician III is responsible for assisting in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electric component maintenance. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable wind turbine operation.</p><h4>What You'll Be Doing</h4><ul><li>Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment.</li><li>Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines.</li><li>Help in all areas of site operations as directed by Site Supervisor and Site Manager with minimal supervision.</li><li>Assist in the training and development of lower level operation and maintenance personnel.</li><li>Perform all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, repair and replacement to correct malfunctions.</li><li>Documents all work performed, parts utilized, and time spent using computer-based service reporting procedures.</li><li>Read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.</li><li>Use electrical test equipment to assist in troubleshooting and testing.</li><li>Operate and maintain a service vehicle.</li><li>Maintain hand tools in good working order and well organized.</li><li>Lead maintenance and troubleshooting crews as necessary.</li><li>Safely perform LOTO and mentor lower level technicians in LOTO.</li><li>Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required.</li><li>Work a flexible on call schedule when needed. This may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Operate and maintain a service vehicle.</li></ul><h4>What You'll Bring</h4><ul><li>An Associate’s degree (electrical or technical) and two years turbine experience, or a high school diploma/GED and three-year wind turbine experience</li><li>Able to meet requirements of CEG’s Qualified Electrical Worker program.</li><li>Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet. Job will require standing outside the nacelle and nosecone at the top of the turbine.</li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.</li><li>Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color coded wires.</li><li>Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments</li><li>Able to travel as required.</li><li>Knowledge of and the ability to use various hand tools.</li><li>Able to work safely in a confined space.</li><li>Have an in depth understanding of the different components of the wind turbine including the electrical&nbsp;pitch system, computerized control system, and the power conversion unit as well as knowledge and understanding of OEM approved mechanical maintenance methods and practices.</li><li>Able to communicate verbally and in writing and able to work without direct supervision during performance of work. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Possess the skills to perform mechanical and electrical equipment repairs.</li><li>Able to create, edit or modify Microsoft Word and Excel documents.</li><li>If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications but see yourself contributing, please submit your resume.</li></ul><h4>What Would Be Nice</h4><ul><li>Previous experience in SAP is preferred.</li></ul><p><strong>Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).</strong></p><p>The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law.
