Job Summary This position assists in managing the pharmaceutical care workload; compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians; and reviews and interprets prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed and drug interactions are monitored. Fully Remote Schedule Available Job Summary In this position, the candidate will provide pharmaceutical care to patients requiring infused medications through the UK Specialty Pharmacy. Responsibilities include serving as the primary liaison between the UK Specialty Pharmacy and UK’s infusion centers; ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy is implemented for all patients in their care and monitoring care appropriately. Will also facilitate the formulary review process for infused medications; participate in appropriate hospital and/or departmental committees relevant to practice area; assume responsibility for supervising PharmD students, technicians, and undergraduate and graduate student teachers; and provide educational programs for hospital staff. Establish safe practices for infusion therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients.
