Job Purpose:&nbsp;Provide instruction on basic speech/communication courses at branch campus sites, teach dual enrollment classes on high school campuses in the college service area, and complete administrative duties as assigned.
Essential Core Competencies:

This is a full-time, academic term track appointment reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences for the Department of Nursing. Must be willing to travel between Dyersburg and Covington, TN.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>To devote an equivalent of 37.5 hours of work per week</li>
<li>Participate in development of policies and standards for the Department of Nursing.</li>
<li>Assist in classroom and lab (clinical and campus) instruction.</li>
<li>Monitor, grade, and evaluate students’ progress.</li>

<li>Assist in the identification and mentoring of adjunct instructors.</li>
<li>Review, implement, evaluate current Nursing curriculum. Revise and develop Nursing curriculum in cooperation with colleagues as needed; assist in preparation of schedules and in selection of textbooks (including e-textbooks when appropriate).</li>
<li>Advise students, maintain regular office hours which are accessible to students and participate in college life and committee work of the College.</li>

MACHINE TOOL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
TCAT Shelbyville is working to build a pool of substitute/part-time temporary instructors to support our various programs. AVAILABILITY/CLOSING DATE: This pool application posting does not guarantee an open position. Applications for substitute/part-time temporary instructors are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department as needs arise and as openings become available. Teaching locations and work schedules vary. The length of a teaching assignment may range from one day to one year per assignment.
HOURLY PAY:&nbsp;$20 - $30 dollars per hour, based on experience, education, position assignment, and institutional guidelines.
TEACHING LOCATIONS: The Machine Tool Technology program is offered at two TCAT Shelbyville teaching locations in Shelbyville and Winchester, Tennessee. &nbsp;Teaching location and work hours will vary based on the coverage needed.
DIRECT SUPERVISON FROM: VP of Academics and Compliance
SUMMARY
The instructor will be responsible for the effective performance of assigned responsibilities and duties. Lesson plans, assignments, and instructions will be provided and used as a guideline to lead student activities. The instructor will oversee student conduct, safety, discipline, and appearance, addressing issues as they arise with the VP of Academics and Compliance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>High school graduate or the equivalent as determined by the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET).</li>
<li>3+ years approved work experience in the occupation to be taught.</li>
<li>Ability to effectively utilize email and basic computer software. (Microsoft Office)</li>
<li>Strong customer service skills, effective oral and written communication, and excellent organizational and planning skills.</li>

<li>Knowledge of the principles and practices of the occupation to be taught and the ability to use the tools and equipment used in the industry.</li>

<li>Coordinate all disciplinary issues with the VP of Academics and Compliance.</li>
<li>Be responsible for and maintain inventory control of equipment, tools, and supplies assigned to the classroom and lab. Report loss or damage immediately.</li>

<li>Adhere to the school calendar and daily class schedule.</li>
<li>Start and end class at designated time.</li>

Minimum Qualifications

Job Summary
This is a full-time, academic-year (9 month), one-year term (renewable) appointment within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The faculty member is responsible for the planning and delivery of quality classroom instruction across multiple delivery formats, assessment of student learning, and service to the shared governance of the college. The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day and evening on any Jackson State Community College Campus.
Job Duties
• Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction in Early Childhood Education and Teaching Pathways courses, including Introduction to Education, Educational Psychology, Early Childhood Curriculum, and other courses as assigned, using innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
• Student and Course Assessment: Assess student performance through various methods and contribute to the continuous improvement of student learning outcomes in each course taught.
• Program Development: Coordinate with other faculty and the Dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences to expand and enhance the Early Childhood Education program and Teaching Pathways program, including curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes.
• Student Advising: Provide academic advising and mentorship to students in the Early Childhood Education Program and Teaching Pathways Program, supporting their educational and career goals.
• Shared Governance: Actively participate in college governance, including serving on committees and contributing to policy development and decision-making processes.
• Community Engagement: Foster relationships with local organizations and community partners to create opportunities for student internships, service learning, and collaborative projects.

Minimum Qualifications

<li>Experience in program development and committee work in the college setting.</li>
<li>Experience teaching in the Pre-K-12 environment.</li>

<li>A minimum of 18 graduate hours in ECED</li>
<li>Experience teaching courses in a variety of modalities including in-person, hybrid, virtual, and asynchronously online.</li>
