Capital Preparatory Magnet School is a PK - 12, Social Justice, Magnet School, and the only school in Hartford Public Schools with an 11-month school year. This allows our beautiful and capable children to stay in a structured and planned learning environment throughout the year, and also supports the promise of ‘Capital Prep’ that each of our students will be college ready. 

Due to the extended work-year, certified-teachers who work at Capital Prep will receive a 8.7% salary differential annually.

Hartford Public Schools is offering a signing incentive up to $5,000 for full-time, newly hired certified teachers in district identified shortage areas for the 2023-24 school year. Find out more information about the signing incentives here.

Represent Hartford

The state of Connecticut is seated on the northeastern seaboard. Hartford is within an hour’s drive of the coastline and is centrally located between New York City and Boston. Education & Certification Requirements

Candidates must have a conferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and must also possess and maintain the certification and/or licensure requirements for this position as established by the Connecticut state statutes. 

Salary

Pay will be commensurate with experience, educational level, and in accordance with the Hartford Federation of Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement salary schedule. The bargaining agreement salary range for the school year 2023-2024 is $47,464 to $104,837.
