Job Synopsis

MCC U.S. is looking to expand our pool of on-call staff to work in our kitchen/dining hall to help with food preparation, serving food and clean-up in our dining room. On-Call Staff are part of the Administrative Services Department. This is a collaborative team that ensures a variety of tasks are carried out to ensure a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests and staff who frequent the MCC Akron PA campus.

  • Legally authorized to be employed in the U.S. is required. 
  • Friendly, welcoming attitude to interact with guests on campus 
  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time in the kitchen  
  • Able to lift 20 pounds 
  • Able to bend for various tasks such as dishwashing, putting dishes away, and sweeping 
  • Flexibility to work during day, evening, weekend, and some holiday hours 
  • Kitchen experience (i.e food prep, washing dishes, serving customers) preferred

Key Responsibilties

As directed by supervisor, assist colleagues in the kitchen/dining hall to prepare meals and snacks for guests on campus. Training in specific tasks will be provided on-the-job. 
 

Kitchen/Dining Hall Tasks: Assist colleagues with food prep, serving and clean up, for guests to the MCC Dining Hall. Typical shifts are 6am-2pm; 11am-7pm. Shifts available on week days and weekends. 
 

Schedules are typically drafted 3-4 weeks in advance. There may be periodic requests to work on short notice, if teammates need emergency coverage. There will be some weeks with no On Call Staff hours, while a maximum week would likely be 30 hours and an average week that On Call Staff would be requested is 10 hours with the possibility of 4-8 hours on a given day.
